Chile-lime popcorn with Tizon

Stovetop popcorn, a little butter and lime zest, and Tizon shaken on while the bowl is still warm.

Made with Tizon Lumbre Fuego Seasoning

Steps

  1. Heat the oil with three kernels in a large covered pot over medium-high heat. When all three pop, add the rest of the kernels, cover, and take the pot off the heat for thirty seconds.
  2. Put the pot back on the heat and shake it now and then. When the popping slows to a few seconds between pops, pour the popcorn into a big bowl.
  3. Drizzle the melted butter over the popcorn while you toss it with your other hand.
  4. Add the lime zest, then shake Tizon over the bowl in three rounds, tossing between each.
  5. Taste and add one more shake if you want it hotter. Eat it warm.

Tips

Microwave popcorn works too: open the bag over the bowl and season within a minute, while it is still warm.

For a party bowl, toss in roasted peanuts after the last shake.
